This year, we followed in our experimental orchard of Montélimar the variety Barquesa (cov) in 3rd sheet. The variety's tolerance to anthracnose is undeniable.
Compared to the controls (Lara, Fernor, Ferbel, Franquette, Chandler), the foliage of Barquesa (cov) remained intact and without any trace of anthracnose. Maturity this year was 8 days after Ferbel. The ability of the variety to produce double and triple fruits in large quantities, and the very rapid fruit set make it a very promising variety in terms of productivity. Crossed with American varieties, it produces laterally and reaches 2800kg in 3rd leaf with a fruit size of 38-40mm.
